Kara Sev recipe is one of the simple and delicious Indian Diwali snacks. Everyone, young and old, adores karasev for its fiery flavour and delicate texture. A fantastic evening snack that requires very few ingredients is karasev.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Gram flour / Besan Flour
- 1 cup rice flour
- 1 tsp Crushed pepper
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
- a pinch asafetida
- Groundnut oil
- Salt
Directions
- In a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, crushed pepper, red chilli powder, asafetida with required salt.
- Mix it well.
- Add water little by little to make a smooth dough.
- Dough will be slightly sticky.
- Take a murukku press.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Put an oval shaped dough in the murukku press.
- Press it directly in hot oil, cut with fingers into 3 to 4 inch pieces.
- Fry both sides in a high medium flame till both sides get fried and color changed to orange.
- Remove it from the flame without burning it when the bubble stops.
- Tasty and Spicy Kara Sev is ready.
- When it is cooled to room temperature, store in airtight containers.
