Kollu Soup | Horse gram Soup Recipe is a delightful, wholesome, and nutritious recipe for weight loss. In this recipe I have used Sprouted Horse gram which is easily digestible and a great immune booster. Normally, all-purpose and corn flour are used to make soup, both of which are harmful for our digestive systems. However, in this recipe, I’ve used rice starch water, which tastes great and can help you lose weight when consumed hot and fresh.

Kollu-Soup-Recipe-Horsegram

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Sprouted Kollu
  • 1 – 2 Cup Rice Starch Water
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Pepper Powder
  • Cumin Powder
  • Few Coriander leaves
  • Salt

Preparations

Rice Starch Water

Cook 1 Cup rice with 5 Cups of water. Once rice gets cooked well, filter the remaining rice starch and take it to prepare Kollu Soup.

Sprouted Kollu / Horse gram

Soak Horsegram / Kollu in water for 8 to 10 hours. Then drain the water and tie it in cotton cloth for 10 hours to get it sprout.

Directions

  1. In a pot add Sprouted kollu, rice starch water, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, onion, tomato with one or two more cups of water.
  2. Boil it and cook it well till kollu gets cooked well.
  3. Can mash it well if prefered or just leave it as it is.
  4. Then add salt and switch off the stove.
  5. Add pepper powder and cumin powder according to your taste and spice level.
  6. Garnish with Coriander leaves.
  7. Healthy and tasty Weight loss Kollu Soup is Ready.
  8. Serve hot.
