Cauliflower Rice Recipe | Seeraga Samba Recipe is a quick, easy and kids favorite recipe. It’s a simple variety rice for lunch and also a lunch box recipe. Cauliflower has more dangerous chemicals than any other vegetable on the market, so when purchasing it, make sure it is fresh and always choose pesticide-free varieties. In this dish, I’ve used the flavorful, aromatic Traditional Variety rice from Tamil Nadu called Seeraga samba, but you can use whichever rice you prefer instead.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Seeraga Samba Rice
- 1 Cup Cauliflower Florets
- 3 Green Chilli
- 1 Onion
- a pinch Turmeric Powder
- a tsp Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 tsp Crushed Cumin Seeds
- Few Coriander Seeds
- Salt
- Ghee
Directions
- Wash and Cook Seeraga Samba rice with 2 Cups of water.
- Take fresh & clean cauliflower florets, soak it in hot water with salt and turmeric for 5 mins.
- Drain water and keep them aside.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, sliced onion, green chilli and saute for a few minutes on medium flame.
- Then add ginger garlic paste and saute till its raw smell goes and onions get translucent.
- Add cauliflower and toss till it gets soft for a few minutes with turmeric powder and salt.
- Close it with a lid and cook for a while if required.
- Once cauliflower gets cooked well, add cooked rice and just gently mix well.
- Switch off the Stove.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Cauliflower Rice is Ready.
- Serve hot or pack for lunch.
