Cluster Beans Recipe | Kothavarai Paruppu Usili is a Tambrahm easy-to-make lunchtime recipe. Kothavarai Paruppu Usili is a wonderful recipe for both women and diabetics. Ingredients
- 1 Cup Kothavarai / Cluster Beans
- 3/4 Cup Toor dal
- 2 Red Chilli
- 1 Green Chilli
- a pinch asafoetida
- Few Curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
- Salt
- Oil
Directions
- Wash and Soak toor dal in water for 20 mins.
- Chop Cluster beans into small pieces.
- After 20 mins drain water from toor dal, add it to a mixie with salt and green chilli.
- Grind them to a paste.
- Spread them in idli plates and steam it well.
- Once the dal is cooked, simply allow it to cool for a while before crumbling it either with a ladle or your hands.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan, splutter mustard seeds, add red chilli, asafetida, curry leaves and once after they sizzle just add chopped cluster beans.
- Saute in low flame till the cluster beans get cooked well.
- Once done, add salt and stir.
- Then add crumbled toor dal and mix all well.
- Cluster Beans Paruppu Usili is Ready.
- Serve hot with hot rice, Kuzhambu.
