Ingredients
- 1 Cup Urad dal
- 1 Green Chilli
- 1/2 tbsp pepper
- Few Curry leaves
- a small piece ginger
- Few Coriander Leaves
- Salt
- Sesame Oil
Directions
- Wash and Soak Urad dal for 1 hour, then refrigerate it for 30 mins.
- After that, add it to a blender along with the ginger, pepper, and green chilli.
- With a few spoons of cold water, blend it into a smooth batter.
- Transfer it to a bowl.
- Add Salt, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mix well.
- Wet your hands and fingers.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Take a small portion of the batter.
- Using your other hands, press your thumb into the centre to create a hole.
- Drop the vadai into the hot oil.
- Deep fry till it turns golden color on both sides.
- Can make 3 to 4 vadai at the same time.
- Medu vada / Ulundu vadai is Ready.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney, sambar.
