Raw Onion Chutney | Pacha Vengaya Chutney Recipe is a quick, spicy, and hot chutney that can be made in a matter of seconds. This dish simply requires blending and tempering to prepare, and it pairs perfectly with soft idli, dosa, Chettinad Vellai paniyaram, and adai. Can optionally add a little jaggery.
Ingredients
- 10 – 15 Small Onion / Shallot
- 3-4 Red chilli
- 1 Garlic Clove
- Amla Size Roasted Tamarind
- 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 tbsp Urad dal
- a pinch Asafetida
- Few Curry leaves
- Salt
Directions
- Peel small onions and keep them ready.
- In a blender add small onions, red chilli, garlic, Roasted tamarind and salt.
- Blend it smoothly without water.
- Transfer it to a bowl.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan, temper with mustard seeds, urad and wait till it turns golden.
- Add asafetida and Curry leaves.
- Pour it over the chutney.
- Serve fresh with idli, dosa, Chettinad Vellai Paniyaram, Adai etc.
