Sundal is a protein rich Indian dish which suits everyone even kids to increase immunity and strength. Any legumes are used to make sundal along with a hot tempering. A wonderful sundal could be prepared with just just few mustard, urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves, and asafetida. We can also prepare grated coconut, cumin seeds, red chilli powder to add on top of it to make it more spicy and delicious.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups of chickpeas
  • 1/2 spoon of mustard
  • 1/2 spoon urad dal
  • 1/2 spoon cumin seeds
  • 2 red chilli
  • A pinch of asafetida
  • Few curry leaves
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup grated coconut
  • Oil

DIRECTIONS

  • Chickpeas should be soaked for eight to ten hours.
  • After soaking well add some rock salt and cook till it gets soft.
  • Then in a pan add some oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds, red chilli, asafetida and curry leaves.
  • Add tempering on top of cooked chickpeas with grated coconut.
  • Mix Well
  • That’s all delicious and nutritious chickpea sundal is ready.
