Moong dal Halwa Recipe is a quick, easy, and healthy food that is made during festivals and special occasions. Simply roasting moong dal in ghee and boiling it in milk makes a delicious, aromatic and tasty dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Moong dal
  • 1/4 Cup Ghee
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Jaggery
  • a pinch cardomom powder

Directions

  1. Roast Moong dal with 2 spoons ghee till it turns golden yellow in low flame.
  2. Then add Milk with 1 cup of water and cook well till it gets soft in medium low flame.
  3. Add ghee little by little in frequent interval by stirring it.
  4. Add cardomom powder and continue stirring and adding ghee.
  5. Once it gets cooked well and turns thick just lower the flame and add jaggery and mix well.
  6. Add all the ghee and mix well.
  7. Cook for few more minutes till it gets thicken again and halwa begins to leave the sides of the pan.
  8. Moong dal Halwa is Ready to Serve.
  9. Garnish with roasted Cashews which is optional.
