Simple Coconut Chutney is very simple to make and has numerous variants, such as adding red chilli, a piece of ginger, a piece of garlic, a little piece of tamarind, two to four raw shallots (small onions) etc while grinding. Ingredients
- One Cup Grated coconut
- 3 tbsp Fried gram
- 2 Green chilli
- 2 tsp Oil
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 tsp urad dal
- Few Curry leaves
- a pinch asafoetida
- 2 Red Chilli
- Salt
Directions
- In the mixie add Grated coconut, fried gram, green chilli and salt.
- Grind them well.
- Add required water and grind to the smooth consistency.
- Transfer it to a bowl.
- In the pan add oil, mustard and wait for it to splutter.
- Then add urad dal and wait till its color changes in medium flame.
- Add red chilli, asafetida, curry leaves and switch off the stove.
- Add tempering to the chutney.
- Mix well.
- Coconut Chutney is ready to serve with any breakfast.
