Coriander Chutney Recipe | Malli Chutney is a healthy and tasty chutney recipe, goes well with any tiffin variety or even with hot rice and ghee added. I used grated coconut in this simple recipe, but you could instead use roasted peanuts if you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Fresh Coriander leaves
  • 3 tbsp grated coconut
  • a small piece Ginger
  • a small piece tamarind
  • 2 green Chilli
  • 1/2 tbsp Urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp mustard
  • a pinch asafoetida
  • Oil
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Take clean, roots removed coriander leaves, wash it 2 to 3 times and drain it.
  2. In a pan, heat oil, add mustard, wait till it splutters, then add urad dal and let it turn golden.
  3. Add asafetida, small piece tamarind, green chilli, ginger and just give a stir.
  4. Then add coriander leaves and saute just a minute, add grated coconut, salt and switch off the stove.
  5. Transfer it to a plate to cool.
  6. Grind it smoothly with little required water.
  7. Coriander Chutney is Ready.
  8. Serve with hot idli, bonda, vada, dosa.
