Healthy Kalakala Recipe | Diamond Snack is all time kids favorite snacks. However, white sugar and maida are typically used to make kalakala, which is harmful for kids’ health and digestion. So in this recipe I use wheat flour with palm sugar which doesn’t compromise taste and color.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Wheat Flour
  • 1/4 – 1/2 Cup Palm Sugar (depends on the quality)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • a pinch Salt
  • a pinch Cardamom powder
  • Oil

Directions

  1. Grind Palm Sugar and Cardamom to a fine powder in a mixie.
  2. Transfer it to a mixing bowl.
  3. Then add wheat flour to it with ghee and salt.
  4. Mix together, then add water little by little to make a soft dough.
  5. Cover and Keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  6. Make small balls with the dough.
  7. Roll it into a flat like chapati.
  8. Cut the circle shape to a little diamond shape with a knife.
  9. Heat oil in a pan.
  10. Add the diamond cuts to oil and fry in low medium flame till it gets golden and crisp.
  11. Remove it from the stove.
