Generally Chikki is a healthy Indian traditional sweet made with nuts and jaggery. Kids love to eat this peanut chikki for snacks, after school or during winter season.

Jaggery is high in iron, whereas peanuts / groundnuts are high in protein, vitamins, minerals, and HDL. Combining the two results in a delicious snack meal that is nutrient-rich.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Cups Peanuts
  • 1 – 1 1/4 Cup Jaggery
  • Water
  • Ghee

DIRECTIONS

  • Roast peanuts in low flame and peel and blow off the skin.
  • Grease a steel tray with ghee and keep aside.
  • Dissolve jaggery with a few spoons of water and cook in a pan on low flame.
  • Stir Frequently.
  • Just after 5 mins take a little of it and drop the jaggery syrup in cold water.
  • If it forms a hard lump in the water, then remove the jaggery syrup from heat and add groundnut to it.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour the mixture into the greased tray and spread enough for 1 inch.
  • Slice them to pieces when warm and allow it to set.
  • Healthy and Tasty Peanut Chikki is ready to serve once set.
  • Store in an airtight Container.
