Seven Herbs Mooligai Tea Recipe is a simple, excellent substitute for ordinary coffee and a nutritious herbal tea recipe. To make herbal tea on a regular basis, we can simply prepare and store the herbal tea powder.
7 Herb herbal tea is energising and revitalising, made with essential herbs including sukku, malli, milagu, thippili along with athimathuram, pachilai, and sitharathai. When brewing tea, we can add cardamom powder and mint leaves to improve the flavour and aroma. If consumed early in the morning, you can also add lemon juice at the end before consuming it.
Ingredients
- 5 tbsp Coriander Seeds
- 4 tbsp Black Pepper
- 4 tbsp Crushed Dry ginger
- 2 tbsp Crushed Licorice / Athimathuram
- 2 tbsp dried Sweet basil / Tiruneetruppachilai leaves
- 1 tbsp Crushed sitharathai
- 1 tbsp Crushed long pepper / thippali
To make seven herb mooligai tea
- 2 tbsp seven herb mooligai tea powder
- 2 1/4 Cups water
- Jaggery / honey
Preparations
- Take some few tiruneetrupachilai leaves, then dry them till crisp for three days in the shade.
- All other ingredients should be roughly crushed and placed on a platter.
- Take all the ingredients, excluding the jaggery, and dry them in the sun for a day until they are crisp.
- For a pleasant flavour, you can also add some cardamom.
- Then, depending on your preference, grind to a powder that is either coarse or smooth.
- Now our seven herb mooligai tea powder is ready.
- Put it in an airtight container once it has cooled.
Directions To make 7 Herb Mooligai Tea
- Bring a pot with 2 1/4 cups of water to boil.
- Add 2 tablespoons of the powdered seven herb mooligai.
- Allow it to boil for a few minutes.
- Switch off the stove.
- If you want a light herb tea, filter it; if you want a strong flavour and taste, leave it covered with a lid for a few minutes.
- As a sweetener, you may choose to add honey or jaggery.
- Serve warm.
