Marunthu-Kulambu-Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tbsp Thippili
  • 1/2 tbsp Karunjeeragam
  • 1/2 tbsp Sitharathai
  • 2 tbsp Pepper
  • 10 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 inch Dry Ginger
  • little old roasted Tamarind
  • 2 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  • Salt
  • Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • Few Curry leaves

Directions

  1. Peel Garlic, crush dry ginger, extract tamiarind water by soaking it and keep them ready aside.
  2. Add sesame oil in a pan and roast thippili, karunjeeragam, sitharathai, pepper, garlic and dry ginger separately.
  3. Then grind them together, add tamarind water and salt to it with coriander powder, turmeric powder.
  4. Mix the spices water well.
  5. Heat oil in a pan, temper mustard, cumin seeds with curry leaves.
  6. Then add spices water and bring to boil.
  7. Once it begins to boil, lower the heat and continue cooking until the mixture thickens.
  8. Marundhu Kuzhambu is ready.
  9. Serve hot with rice.
