Ingredients
- 2 Handful Curry leaves
- 15 Garlic Cloves
- 20 Shallot / Small Onions
- 2 Tomato
- 1 tbsp Chilli powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1/4 tbsp Cumin Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 piece Kodampuli (Malabar Tamarind)
- 1/4 tsp Mustard
- 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1-2 Dried Red Chilli
- Salt
- Oil
Directions
- Heat a little oil in a pan and roast curry leaves till it leaves a raw smell.
- Transfer it to plates, then add kodampuli, few onions, garlic and roast for a few minutes.
- Let curry leaves and garlic, onion cool, then transfer it to mixie and grind well with little water as paste.
- Heat a little oil in a pan, splutter mustard, add fenugreek seeds, red chilli, then add remaining shallot and saute till onions get translucent.
- Then add tomato, chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and saute till tomatoes get soft in low flame.
- Now add garlic, onion, curry leaves paste with little water and let them boil.
- Add salt and boil it for a few minutes till it gets thicken.
- Switch off the stove.
- Healthy Karuveppilai Poondu Kulambu is Ready.
- Serve hot with poriyal and hot rice with ghee.
