Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 2-3 Red chilli
  • a pinch Turmeric
  • Few Curry leaves
  • a small piece tamarind
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard
  • 1 tsp Channa Dal
  • 1 tsp Urad dal
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Once the oil is hot add mustard seeds and let it splutter followed by channa dal, urad dal.
  3. When dal turns golden, add red chilli, onion, garlic with curry leaves.
  4. Just stir, add tomato.
  5. Saute till tomato turns soft with tamarind, turmeric and salt added.
  6. Turn the stove off.
  7. Place on a plate and allow to totally cool.
  8. Add them to the mixer, and blend them thoroughly with a small amount of water.
  9. Tasty and Spicy Kara Chutney is Ready to Serve with Idli and Dosa.
