Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Kodo Millet Rice
- 3 nos Gooseberry
- 1 Red Chilli
- 2 Green chilli
To temper
- 1/4 tsp Mustard
- 1/4 tsp urad dal
- Few Curry Leaves
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- Sesame oil
- Salt
Directions
- Wash and Soak Kodo Millet for 20 mins.
- In a pot add 2 cups of water and heat it.
- Then add Kodo Millet when water starts to boil and cook for 6 to 8 minutes till millet rice gets cooked well.
- Once done, strain the excess water, add little sesame oil and mix well.
- Grate gooseberries, remove seeds and keep it aside ready.
- In a pan, heat sesame oil, add mustard and wait for it to splutter, add urad dal, wait till it gets golden, then add curry leaves, red and green chilli, asafetida, turmeric powder, salt and grated gooseberry.
- Stir the gooseberries for two to three minutes.
- Switch off the Stove, add cooked Kodo Millet rice and Mix well gently.
- Kodo Millet Amla Rice is ready.
- Serve hot with papad or with any vegetable fry.
