Homemade Millet Noodles | Jowar Noodles Recipe is a healthy and nutritious millet noodles prepared with Sorghum / Jowar flour / Siru Cholam. In general, atta or maida is combined with artificial flavours, taste enhancers, preservatives, and additives to make ready-made, store-bought noodles. Feed your loving children nutritional homemade millet noodles as a substitute for unhealthy, carcinogenic ready-made noodles.

Millet-Noodles-Recipe, Jowar Millet Noodles, Homemade Healthy vegetable noodles

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Jowar Flour
  • 1 Cup Julienne cut Vegetables (Carrot, Beans, Capsicum, Cabbage)
  • 1/4 tsp Crushed Garlic
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 tbsp Spring onions
  • 1 tbsp Pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli flakes
  • Salt
  • Oil

Directions

  1. In a bowl add jowar flour with some salt, oil and mix well.
  2. Add boiled warm water little by little and mix well to form a dough.
  3. When it is warm, make a small oval shaped dough.
  4. Get Steamer ready.
  5. Using omapodi press, extract the dough into noodles in a circular way and steam it for 10 to 15 mins in low medium flame till it gets cooked well.
  6. Once done, just wait for a few minutes and dip for a second in cold water to get separate noodle strands.
  7. Heat oil in a pan, add crushed garlic, red chilli flakes and saute for a minute.
  8. Then add sliced onion, saute for a few minutes.
  9. Add vegetables (first add carrots and beans then after a few minutes add capsicum and cabbage) and continue saute till they get cooked well, if required close it with a lid and cook.
  10. Once vegetables are crunchy and cooked well, add salt and pepper.
  11. Add prepared Jowar Noodles and toss well for a minute.
  12. Switch off the Stove.
  13. Garnish with Spring onions.
  14. Homemade Jowar Millet Noodles are Ready.
  15. Serve hot.
