Bajra Kozhukattai | Pearl Millet Sweet | Kambu Recipe is a healthy evening recipe for kids and elders. Pearl millet | Bajra is an excellent alternative to traditional white rice kolukattai since it is high in fibre, protein, vitamins, and minerals.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Bajra / Kambu Flour
- 3 tbsp Grated Coconut
- 1 Cup Jaggery
- a pinch Cardamom Powder
- 1 tsp Ghee
- a pinch Salt
Directions
- In a pan add jaggery with little water.
- Boil for a few minutes and filter it to remove impurities, keep aside ready.
- In a heavy bottom pan heat ghee, add bajra flour and roast for a few minutes till we get a nice aroma.
- Transfer to plate.
- Add 2 cups of water in the same pan with cardamom powder, salt, jaggery syrup and heat it.
- When it starts to boil add roasted bajra flour and stir continuously without getting lumps in medium low flame.
- Once it gets cooked well and formed like a dough add grated coconut and mix well.
- Switch off the flames.
- Let it get warm to make a kozhukattai.
- Apply oil in hands, take a small ball size and shape it by pressing using your hands.
- Repeat with all the dough.
- Keep them in a steamer and steam for 7 – 10 mins.
- Healthy and Tasty Bajra recipe | Kambu Kozhukattai is ready.
- Serve hot.
