Easy Chana Masala Recipe | No masala powder recipe is a simple and quick recipe with just few regular ingredients without any special masala powder or garam masala.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Chickpeas / Chana
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
- Few Curry leaves
- Few Coriander leaves
- Oil
- Salt
To grind
- 2 Onions
- 2 Tomato
- a small piece ginger
- 4-5 Garlic cloves
- 3 Red Chilli
Directions
- Wash and soak Chickpeas for 8-10 hours.
- Drain water and wash it once well.
- Cook chickpeas well till soft with little salt.
- Grind onions, tomato, ginger, garlic, red chilli smooth as a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pan, add fennel seeds, curry leaves and then add grind masala.
- Add salt and turmeric powder, mix well, saute in medium low flame till the raw smell disappears.
- Then add cooked chickpeas, required water and mix well.
- Check for salt and spice, add if required, let them boil well.
- Once it gets a little thick and mixed well, switch off the stove.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with any tiffin like roti, idiyappam, puttu etc.
