Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Curry leaves
  • 2 Red Chilli
  • a pinch asafetida
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 tsp Urad dal
  • 1 tsp channa dal
  • a small piece Tamarind
  • Oil
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Curry leaves should be cleaned, drained, and kept ready.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, urad dal and channa dal, wait till dal turns golden.
  3. Stir in the tamarind, red chilli, and asafetida.
  4. Switch off the flame and add curry leaves, sauté in the heat of the kadai.
  5. Let them cool.
  6. Add it to the blender with salt and grind it.
  7. Fresh Green Karuveppilai Thogayal is Ready.
  8. Serve it with mixed with rice or with idli, dosa etc.
