Mint Chutney Recipe | Pudina Chutney is a nutritious and appetizing condiment that is served with idli, dosa, snacks or hot rice that has been combined with ghee.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup fresh Mint leaves
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • a pinch asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp urad dal
  • a small piece tamarind
  • Oil
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Clean and wash mint leaves, then drain it and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, heat oil, add mustard, wait for the mustard to splutter, then add urad dal, wait till it turns golden.
  3. Then add asafetida, tamarind, green chilli, chopped onion and fry for a few minutes.
  4. Add mint leaves and just stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Atlast add grated coconut, salt and switch off the stove.
  6. Once it is cool, transfer it to a blender and grind finely with little water required.
  7. Pudina Chutney | Mint Chutney is ready to serve with Idli, dosa and rice.
