Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 2 tbsp Grated Coconut
  • 2 tbsp Moong dal
  • 1 cup Thick Coconut Milk
  • 1 Cup diluted Coconut milk
  • 3/4 cup Jaggery powder
  • 1/4 cup Cardamom Powder
  • Little Salt

Directions

  1. Wash and cook moong dal well, mash it and keep ready aside.
  2. In a bowl add Rice flour, salt and grated coconut.
  3. Mix well, add water little by little to make a dough.
  4. Once the dough is ready, make a small oval shaped kolukattai.
  5. Boil diluted coconut milk and when it is boiling drop oval shaped small Kozhukattai in it, don’t stir immediately.
  6. After one or two minutes just put a flat ladle and saute the vessel from the bottom without disturbing the Kozhukattai.
  7. Let it boil for 2 to 5 minutes.
  8. Then add Jaggery powder, cooked moong dal and cardamom powder.
  9. Switch off the stove.
  10. Add Thick coconut milk.
  11. Mix Well.
  12. Chettinad Paal Kozhukattai Recipe is Ready to Serve.
