Paruppu Podi Recipe | Easy Rice Mix Powder is a quick and flavorful rice mix powder prepared in a matter of minutes. While fried gram is used to make this paruppu podi, heating is sufficient instead of roasting over a flame. And in this dish, I only use black pepper—which treats stomach issues, cools the body, and strengthens immunity—in place of red chilli.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 Cup Fried Gram
- 1/4 Cup Pepper
- 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- Salt
Directions
- In an iron kadai dry roast pepper till it pops in medium flame.
- Transfer it to a plate.
- Add Cumin Seeds, Asafetida, salt and Fried Gram on the iron kadai and immediately switch off the flame.
- Stir continuously for 2 to 3 mins till the kadai heat gets down.
- Transfer to a plate and let it cool.
- Combine all and Grind to a powder (Fine or slightly Coarse as you prefer).
- Paruppu Podi is Ready.
- Store it in an airtight container.
- Serve it with hot, boiled rice and top with a teaspoon of ghee or sesame seed oil.
