Thanga Samba Puttu Recipe.. Everyone can enjoy Thanga Samba Puttu as an evening snack or for breakfast, supper, or both. It is a healthful, easily digestible, and nutritious recipe. I used Thanga samba rice, a variety of traditional white rice from Tamil Nadu, but you can use any variety of rice instead.
To make Thanga Samba Puttu Flour
- 1 Kg Thanga Samba Rice
Method
- Soak Thanga Samba Rice in water For half an hour to an hour.
- Drain and let it lie for 30 minutes.
- When the water has entirely drained and is slightly dry, grind it in a mixer to a coarse powder and sieve.
- When completed the flour should be dry-roasted in a hot kadai.
- Remove it from the fire when we get a nice aroma.
- Spread it and let it cool.
- Sieve the flour and spread it for sometime, then store it in an airtight container.
To make Puttu
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Thanga Samba Rice Flour
- Little Salt
- 1/2 Cup Grated Coconut
- 1 tbsp Ghee
Directions
- In a bowl add thanga samba puttu flour with salt and sprinkle some water (around 2 tbsp to 3 tbsp), mix well.
- Right Consistency of the flour is When you hold flour into your hand, it should form a lump that you can break into crumbles.
- Sieve it so that lumps don’t form while making puttu.
- Fill the base thanga samba flour in the puttu maker with grated coconut filled on top and base of it.
- Thanga Samba puttu is ready when steam emerges from the cap. The aroma of boiling coconut and thanga samba rice smells great.
- Thanga Samba Puttu is Ready to serve, add melted ghee on top of it.
- Serve hot with kadala Curry, Banana.
