Lemon Peel Pickle Recipe | Elumichai Thol Oorugai is a quick and wholesome pickle recipe prepared with nourishing lemon peels. While the juice of ten lemons is used in other recipes, I have utilised the fresh peels in this one. If we don’t have everything at once, we can simply collect it in a bottle and add salt each day; the bottle can then be kept in the fridge or out in the sun. Once we have ten lemon peels, we may make it according to the recipe.
Elumichai Thol Oorugai is an instant and healthy pickle that can only be stored for a short time at room temperature. Simply sauté it well in a little extra oil till oil comes out of it if you want to keep it for a long time.
Ingredients
- 10 Lemon Peel
- Crystal Salt
- 4-6 Green Chilli
- 1/2 tsp Mustard
- Sesame Oil
- a pinch asafoetida
- a Small piece Jaggery
Directions
- In a mixie add lemon peel, salt, green chilli and blend well coarsely.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and once it gets splutter just switch off the stove and immediately add the lemon mixture with asafoetida and jaggery.
- Immediately oil will get absorbed.
- Mix all well.
- Healthy Lemon peel pickle is ready.
