Coriander Rice Recipe | Malli Sadam is a quick, simple and delicious Recipe prepared with just a few ingredients. In order to make flavorful, delectable coriander rice, I’m crushing the masala in this recipe and cooking it with the rice. I use traditional basmati rice in this recipe, but you can also use seeraga samba or any other traditional white rice as you prefer.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Basmati Rice
- 2 Cup Coriander Leaves
- 1 Onion
- 4-5 Shallot / Small onions
- 1 Small Tomato
- 1 inch Ginger
- 4-5 Garlic Cloves
- 3-4 Green Chilli
- 1 Cinnamon
- 2 Cloves
- 1 Bay leaf
- Ghee
- Oil
- Salt
Directions
- Wash and Soak Basmati Rice in water for 10 to 20 mins.
- Discard Coriander leaves roots and take clean washed coriander leaves.
- Grind coriander leaves, small onions, Ginger, Garlic Cloves, green chilli together to a fine paste.
- Heat oil in a pot, add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and wait till they sizzle.
- Then add sliced onion and saute for a few minutes till translucent.
- Add tomato and saute till it gets soft.
- Then add grounded coriander masala and saute till the raw smell goes.
- Drain rice and add basmati rice to it.
- Add 2 Cups of water, add salt, Mix well and let it boil.
- Once it starts to boil reduce flame to medium and cook till water gets absorbed and cooked well.
- Once done, add a spoonful of ghee, switch off the stove, close it with a lid and leave it for 15 mins.
- Easy Coriander Rice is Ready.
- Serve hot with raita, papad or any veg fry.
