Barnyard Millet Idli | Kuthiraivali Idli Recipe is a healthy, wholesome idli recipe. Kuthiraivali idli is the ideal substitute for white rice idlis and a delicious breakfast option for people with diabetes, obesity and other health problems.
Ingredients
- 3 Cup Barnyard Millet Rice
- 1 Cup Urad dal
- 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
- 1/4 cup poha
- Salt
Directions
- Wash and Soak Barnyard Millet Rice with fenugreek for 2 hours.
- Wash and soak urad dal for 1 hour.
- Grind urad dal to a fine batter and transfer it to a bowl.
- Then grind barnyard millet with fenugreek to a fine batter, atlast add poha and just grind well.
- Mix everything together with salt.
- Beat well for a few minutes.
- Close and keep aside to ferment.
- After 7 to 10 hours of fermentation, pour the batter in idli plates and steam it for 7 to 10 minutes.
- Hot Barnyard Millet idli is ready.
- Serve with chutney / sambar.
