Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Barnyard Millet
  • 1 Onion
  • 1/2 Cup boiled Green Peas
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 tbsp pepper powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • Oil / Ghee
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Wash and soak Barnyard Millet for 20 mins.
  2. In a pot, heat 5 cups of water.
  3. Add drained barnyard millet into the pot.
  4. Once it starts to boil, reduce the flame to medium.
  5. Let it boil for 5-7 mins, stir once in a while.
  6. Once it gets cooked well, check and switch off the stove.
  7. Immediately drain the excess water.
  8. Add a tbsp of oil to the cooked barnyard millet.
  9. In a kadai/pan add oil/ghee, crushed garlic, chopped onions and saute for a while till onions get golden.
  10. Then add boiled green peas and saute for a while.
  11. Add pepper powder, salt and cooked barnyard millet.
  12. Gently Mix well.
  13. Switch off the stove, Close it with the lid and leave it for 5 to 10 mins.
  14. Then open it, add lemon juice and mix well gently.
  15. Healthy and Tasty Barnyard Millet Peas Pulao is Ready to Serve.
