Ingredients

  • 3 Cup Barnyard Millet Rice
  • 1 Cup Urad dal
  • 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1/4 cup poha
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Wash and Soak Barnyard Millet Rice with fenugreek for 2 hours.
  2. Wash and soak urad dal for 1 hour.
  3. Grind urad dal to a fine batter and transfer it to a bowl.
  4. Then grind barnyard millet with fenugreek to a fine batter, atlast add poha and just grind well.
  5. Mix everything together with salt.
  6. Beat well for a few minutes.
  7. Close and keep aside to ferment.
  8. After 7 to 10 hours of fermentation, pour the batter in idli plates and steam it for 7 to 10 minutes.
  9. Hot Barnyard Millet idli is ready.
  10. Serve with chutney / sambar.
