Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Red Chilli
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • a small piece Tamarind
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Urad dal
  • a pinch asafoetida
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Salt

Directions

  1. In a mixie add onion, red chilli, tomato, garlic, tamarind and grind all together well.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a kadai, add the mustard and urad dal, and wait until they begin to crackle.
  3. Add asafetida, curry leaves and then add grounded chutney with salt in it and cook it till raw smell goes or If you wish to pack it for the next day, simmer it for a while until the water content is completely gone.
  4. Vara Milagai Chutney | Red Chilli Chutney Recipe is Ready.
  5. Serve it with idli, dosa, paniyaram and roti.
