Jowar Halwa | Siru Cholam Sweet | Sorghum Recipe is a healthy millet sweet recipe. Sirucholam halwa tastes great with an excellent aroma and flavour. Jowar is rich in many nutrients including protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Jowar Flour
- 1 Cup Jaggery
- a pinch Cardamom
- 1/4 Cup Ghee
- 1 Cup Milk
Directions
- In a pan add 1/2 cup of water with jaggery, let it dissolve, then filter and keep it ready.
- Heat 3 spoonfuls of ghee in a heavy bottom pan, add jowar flour and roast in medium flame.
- Stir continuously till we get a nice aroma and its color changes slightly.
- Then add milk with half cup of water and stir continuously without forming lumps.
- When it gets thick add jaggery syrup and continue stirring.
- Add a spoonful of ghee in between every few minutes.
- Stir continuously and mix all well without forming lumps.
- Once it gets thick and cooked well, add remaining ghee and mix well.
- Transfer it to a ghee applied tray and flatten it.
- Aromatic, Healthy Jowar Halwa is Ready.
- Cut into pieces and Serve.
