Cholam Vadai | Jowar Recipe | Sorghum Vada

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sorghum / Siru Cholam / Jowar
  • 6 Green Chilli
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 tbsp Fennel Seeds
  • a small piece Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Few Curry leaves
  • Few Coriander leaves
  • Groundnut oil
  • Salt

Directions

  1. Wash and Soak Siru Cholam / Jowar 6 hours with clean water.
  2. Drain soaked Jowar and add it in mixie with green chilli, ginger, fennel seeds and grind well without water.
  3. Transfer it to a bowl.
  4. Then add chopped onions, curry leaves, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
  5. Heat oil in a Kadai.
  6. Make small balls, press it to vada shape and deep fry to golden color in the hot oil.
  7. Once done remove it from oil.
  8. Healthy and tasty Jowar Vadai is Ready.
