Ragi Halwa | Kelvaragu Sweet | Millet Recipe is a healthy and Delicious Ragi Recipe. Kelvaragu also known as Ragi, Finger Millet in India is abundant in vitamins and minerals and is high in calcium and iron. Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Ragi
- 10 Cashew
- 10 Dry Grapes (optional)
- 3-5 tbsp Ghee
- 1/2 Cup Jaggery
Directions
- Wash and Soak ragi for 10 hours.
- In a pan add jaggery with little water.
- Boil for a few minutes and filter it to remove impurities, keep aside ready.
- Drain water from soaked ragi, wash it once again and grind in well.
- Extract the milk using cloth and grind the remaining again by adding little water.
- Filter and Extract ragi milk, add together with the first extract milk.
- Do it one more time and extract milk.
- Mix all together, Discard the remaining.
- In a heavy bottom pan add little ghee and roast cashew and dry grapes, transfer it to plates.
- Then in the same pan add extracted ragi milk and boil it.
- Stir Continuously in medium low flame without forming lumps.
- When it gets thicken, add jaggery syrup and keep stirring.
- Add Ghee in between little by little.
- Continuously keep stirring till we get a nice glossy texture and when it leaves the sides of the pan.
- Add Roasted Cashew and Dry grapes.
- Mix all together.
- Healthy and Delicious Millet Ragi Halwa is Ready.
