Ingredients
- 1 Cup Kodo Millet Rice
- 1 Onion
- 1/2 Cup Vegetables (Carrot, Beans, Green Peas)
- 2 Green Chilli
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 Tomato
- 2 small piece Cinnamon
- 1 Clove
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 5 Roasted Cashew
- 1 Cardamom
- Few Coriander leaves
- Few Curry leaves
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tbsp Oil
- Salt
Directions
- Wash and Soak Kodo Millet for 20 mins.
- Chop Vegetables and keep them ready.
- In a heavy bottom pan heat oil, add Cinnamon, clove, bay leaf, Crushed Cardamom and wait till they sizzle.
- Then add Chopped Onions, curry leaves, slit green chilli and saute for a while till they get transculated.
- Add ginger garlic paste, vegetables, tomato and saute for a while.
- Drain Kodo millet and add it together with the vegetables.
- Add Turmeric powder, salt with 3 1/2 cups of water.
- Let it boil.
- Once it starts to boil reduce flame to medium and cook till it gets cooked well and water gets absorbed.
- Switch off the stove once it gets cooked well.
- Add ghee, coriander leaves, close it with a lid and keep undisturbed for 15 mins.
- Healthy and Tasty Kodo Millet Kichadi is Ready.
- Serve with any Chutney.
