Fermented Rice | Palayathu | Neeragaram Recipe is a healthy and easy breakfast recipe for everyone. Many people will be quite busy in the morning getting ready for work, so this is an excellent and ideal breakfast dish with a cooling effect on the body. Just mashing the precooked, soaked rice for Neeragaram takes less than two minutes. Then it needs to be mixed with buttermilk and salt. In this recipe I have used Traditional Thanga Samba rice, which has great nutritious value and antioxidants.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Cooked Rice (Thanga Samba Rice)
- Buttermilk
- Salt
- 10 Shallot
Directions
- Take thanga samba cooked rice in a mud pot, add 2 – 2 1/2 Cups of water.
- Cover it with the lid and leave it overnight to ferment.
- Next day, early in the morning take the rice, mash the rice well with your hands till we get a gruel texture.
- Add salt, buttermilk, chopped shallot.
- Mix everything.
